it just doesn't work out sometimes

there's one important, universal thing about being an artist: sometimes, a project just doesn't work out.

creating a work of art is a journey. and on any journey, you'll run into roadblocks. revisions. possibly even scrapping the whole thing and starting over. or trying a completely different path. i have been on that journey multiple times, let me tell you.

for instance, when i was a kid, i gave a shot at being a minecraft youtuber. ...yep, and i'm embarrassed to say it. and no, i do not have any videos i can show you from that time, because i deleted them all. sorry. -_-

a few years after that, i tried my hand at music. and while that life has stuck with me, in current year, it's done so in a different way than when i started. initially, i wanted to be a producer and build a full-time career on releasing my music to streaming platforms and such. but the chances of that happening are less than slim. unless you somehow get lucky and release a tik tok viral hit. but good luck even achieving that!

actually, the first iterations of my website/social media profile were built on the hopes of being a producer. my music was front and center. like so:

but then actually making music became a side project for me; something i do for fun. because, the visual artist i am, i learned that my greatest talents lie elsewhere: visualizing the music. whether that be animation or videography, i have a talent for visualization. and so, creating music videos and album cover artwork for other musicians became my main art project, what i do for work. and how did i get there? by learning what did and didn't work as i continued creating, and playing to my strengths.

and that journey is something no LLM prompt will ever be able to replicate.

so, artists, don't be discouraged if a project doesn't work out. it's inevitable. learn from it, and try again. never stop creating.
